About Doug
I grew up on a family farm near Yorkton, Saskatchewan, where you learn early that a building has to work as hard as the people in it. At 20 I started in construction, and over the next four decades as a Red Seal Carpenter I framed, finished and built homes across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
In 2014 I moved into residential design, bringing that time on job sites to the drafting table. Every plan I draw is meant to be practical to build and planned around the way families really live.
Away from the drafting table, I'm a proud husband, dad, and gramps to six wonderful grandchildren, who remind me what a home is really for.
